Essay on The History of Prejudice and Discrimination

Being Prejudice means that you are discriminating against another race or group of people. Discrimination is an awful thing that has been around since the beginning of time. It can be a dangerous thing because it can cause problems for example Hitler discriminating against the Jews and getting millions of people to hate them. I don’t think discrimination will be gone completely but there are some ways for it to be slowed down and/or reduced. There are many things that can cause people to be prejudice or discriminate against another group. The people you hang around, your family and friends can influence you into doing things like hating another group of people. This can be a dangerous thing for one significantly big reason, how it can change a person’s state of mind. For example. Adolf Hitler persuaded many people to believe that the Jewish community caused every problem that ever happen in the world. Hitler made people believe that the Jews caused World War One, creating the Great Depression, for making Germany lose World War One by allegedly causing strikes and revolution on the homefront, etc. Him preaching his reasons on why the Jews were the worst thing that ever caused the biggest war ever World War Two. Thousands of Jews suffered from having to do extraordinary amounts of labor to burning Jewish babies alive in fires. Being prejudice can be a very dangerous thing especially if you are a persuasive person. There have been many historical examples of discrimination. Such as the slave era, the white people of America thought that black people weren’t worth much because of the color of their skin. So they used them for their manual labor, as sex slaves, etc. Another example, is the Holocaust when Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Army enslaved all the Jews of Germany. The Nazi Army did things to the Jews like literally worked them to death, burned them alive, out them in showers by the hundreds and release fatal gasses in the shower and kill Jews by the Hundreds.
